PCTFE Bar (PCTFE Rod)

PCTFE Bar, also widely known as Kel-F rod or PCTFE rod, is a rigid extruded & compression-moulded fluoropolymer round bar optimized for CNC machining into precision custom components. Compared with PTFE, PCTFE bar delivers higher rigidity, superior creep resistance and ultra-low gas & moisture permeability, making it the preferred raw stock for cryogenic sealing, high-purity semiconductor and corrosive chemical service.

Key Advantages

✅ Ultra-low permeation & near-zero moisture absorption

PCTFE has one of the lowest water vapor transmission rates among fluoropolymers. It blocks gas and moisture penetration effectively for hermetic sealing, vacuum and high-pressure systems.

✅ Excellent cryogenic toughness

Maintains mechanical strength and does not embrittle at extreme low temperatures down to -204°C, stable for liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen and LNG cryogenic valve applications.

✅ Low creep & high dimensional stability

Far less cold flow under continuous compression load than PTFE. Machined parts retain tight tolerances for long-term sealing performance.

✅ Broad chemical resistance

Nearly inert to most strong acids, alkalis, oxidants and organic solvents. It performs better than PTFE when exposed to aromatic hydrocarbons and aggressive process media.

✅ High purity & low outgassing

Low outgassing grade available for semiconductor high-purity gas systems and vacuum chambers. Non-flammable (UL94 V-0), with optional FDA compliant grades for pharma and medical use.

✅ Good machinability

Solid round bar stock supports reliable CNC turning, milling and threading to produce valve seats, seals, spacers and custom fittings. Thin sections can show slight translucency.

High-purity semiconductor grade and general industrial grade are available. ROHS, REACH, FDA and BAM certificates can be supplied upon request.
